The hall as a meeting place
The entrance area or adjoining hallway is a place where we come into contact with people – both known and unknown to us. It’s where we welcome friends and family members, but also receive packages from the mail carrier and pizza from the delivery driver. During the coronavirus pandemic, we should be particularly careful about these kinds of encounters. The pizza delivery driver is required to wear a mask. So why don’t you wear one too? Both for hygiene reasons and out of solidarity.
Another example: you’re running a bit late and need to leave the house quickly to catch the bus to an important appointment. But where did you put that mask? In the pocket of which pants? In which handbag? You don’t have time to search for it. Does this scene sound familiar? Even though wearing masks has become almost second nature to us, we still forget and misplace them every now and then. If only you had a place where you could always keep them safe. Why not make room in the hallway?
Hooks for masks
This board not only looks cool but is really practical too. It consists of a three-millimeter-thick black plate. A self-adhesive mounting device is attached to the back. The corresponding Z-hook is screwed into the wall, making the board easy to hang up. Small silicone feet at the bottom keep the plate a certain distance away from the wall.
Magnetic hooks for neatly hanging up masks are attached to the front of the plate. There is another special built-in feature: you can use chalk to write messages for your partner, children or roommates. If and when the coronavirus crisis is over, you can use the hooks for keys or other items instead.
In this example, wooden clothespins are glued onto a thin wooden board. There is also a mini laundry bag at the bottom for collecting up used masks.
Very stylish: the actual hooks are formed by small branches held together by cords in matching colors. Small wire hooks are screwed into one of the branches. The construction hangs on a fancy band that is fixed to the wall with nails.
Do you already have a dresser standing in the hallway, or a few shelves on the wall where you can place small items? Carrying masks around in your pocket or handbag is not exactly hygienic. And there is a constant risk of losing them. So why don’t you create a container especially for storing masks? You can keep it constantly at hand on a shelf near your front door. Here are two examples.
This mask case is a clean solution. It is more than 20 centimeters long, which makes it big enough to even fit several mouth-nose protectors inside. You should also wash the case from time to time – at 30 degrees. It’s not suitable for the tumble dryer and should only be ironed using a protective cloth.
This mask box performs the same function but has a different look. The 19-centimeter-long container is only 1.2 centimeters high but can hold up to five disposable or two fabric masks. You can choose to have the slogan “Social distancing security” printed on the front in different colors such as black, blue or gold.
Stop and disinfect by your door
When you go out to the supermarket, you’ll have to touch the shopping cart and possibly also some change if you pay by cash – that’s not a pleasant thought. How convenient it would be if you could disinfect your hands as soon as you got home, in the hallway of your house or apartment. Below we present three different options that will allow you and your guests to disinfect your hands.
As well as the usual disinfectant bottles you find in the supermarket, other dispensers are available in stores that are larger, more intuitive or even more attractive. Some are mainly intended for public places but can also be used in your home. Here are a few examples.
- The classic ready-to-use dispenser: 1,000 milliliters of disinfectant plus the corresponding dispenser with a stainless-steel operating lever for pumping.
- The attractive glass model: this hand disinfectant is both appealing and discreet. The glass bottle with pump contains 250 milliliters of liquid. The addition of aloe vera makes it gentle on your skin during application. Simply arrange this decorative item on a small dresser in the hall – the design speaks for itself.
- The space-saving automatic dispenser: simply hold your hand underneath and the disinfectant will be released. This dispenser is equipped with a contactless sensor. Thanks to the stable metal construction, you can screw it to the wall in the hallway.
Conclusion: everything ready at hand at the entrance
It’s where we go out and come in again, say hello to guests or thank you to suppliers – the entrance and hallway are meeting places and transit areas combined. Especially during the coronavirus pandemic, these areas require extra attention to hygiene measures. With original mini hooks for your masks and a disinfectant dispenser within easy reach, you’ll be doing other people and yourself a big favor.
